V.Group acquires Njord from Maersk Tankers

V.Group, the leading global marine services provider, has acquired Njord, a fuel efficiency and decarbonisation specialist founded by Maersk Tankers. Mazanti-Andersen has advised V.Group in connection with the acquisition.

Founded in 2019, Njord was established as a partnership between Maersk Tankers, Cargill, and Mitsui to support the maritime industry in reducing emissions and improving compliance and commercial performance through proven energy-efficiency technologies.

This acquisition marks a further expansion of V.Group’s fuel efficiency and decarbonisation ecosystem, enhancing the group’s ability to deliver value to shipowners and charterers by combining its compliance and operational capabilities with Njord’s advanced systems and technology integration expertise. The move aligns with V.Group’s ambition to become the leading fuel-efficiency and decarbonisation advisor and service provider.

Njord will continue to operate under its current brand and will become the main decarbonisation brand within the V.Group portfolio, integrating with its existing V.Services division.

Mazanti-Andersen advised V.Group on Danish legal aspects of the transaction with a team comprising Jan Al-Erhayem, Sune Westrup and Cecilie Weis Holst.
