Climentum Capital and EIFO invest in Danish fashion tech Rodinia Generation fighting overproduction and waste

Mazanti Transactions has advised the sustainable investment fund Climentum Capital and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) in connection with the EUR 3 million Seed funding for Rodinia Generation.

Founded by Danish designer Trine Young in 2017, Rodinia Generation has developed both in-house hardware and software to run a network of automated microfactories that make clothes near the customer, exactly when needed, and only in the amounts people buy. Unlike traditional mass production, Rodinia’s approach minimizes environmental impact, avoiding excessive water usage and toxic chemicals.

Today, it takes nine months from design to sale and production processes are low-tech. Rodinia have shortened the production process to under two weeks, and in some cases even down to 48 hours, depending on the type and volume of clothing, eliminating the need to overproduce.

Rodinia Generation’s first microfactory has been running successfully in Copenhagen since 2021. Rodinia supplies several Danish leading fashion companies, including sportswear brand Hummel and Mads Nørgaard Copenhagen.

The EUR 3 million in fund will be used to expand its European production before entering global markets.
