Ballard Capital acquires 100% of HB Køge Kvindefodbold ApS
HB Køge’s women’s team is now under new ownership, following the American investment firm Ballard Capital's acquisition of 100% of HB Køge Kvindefodbold ApS. Mazanti Transactions advised Ballard Capital in connection with the acquisition from Capelli Sport.
The transaction was carried out as part of a corporate restructuring of HB Køge’s operations, whereby the women’s and girls’ division was separated into an independent entity. Ballard Capital becomes the majority shareholder in the newly established company, while the existing ownership group retains ownership of HB Køge A/S and the club’s men’s division.
Ballard Capital is a U.S.-based investment firm focused on sports and entertainment. The firm is also behind the U.S. women’s football club Kansas City Current, which competes in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the top-tier women’s football league in the US.
Thank you to Angie Long and Chris Long and the entire Ballard Capital team for the trust and excellent cooperation throughout the transaction.
Mazanti Transactions advised Ballard Capital throughout the process with a team consisting of Simon Falbe-Hansen, Christian Geertsen, Liva Kellberg, Mette Gahrn-Jensen, and Patricia Caroline Schmidt.
