Plukon Food Group B.V. acquires 100% of HKScan Denmark A/S

The Dutch company Plukon Food Group has successfully acquired 100 percent of the shares in HKScan Denmark, the Danish subsidiary of HKScan Corporation. Mazanti-Andersen has advised Plukon in connection with the acquisition. The debt-free purchase price is DKK 332 million.

Plukon, based in Wezep, Netherlands, is an innovative player in poultry, meals and salads, meal components and alternative proteins in Europe. The company has 34 production units in six different countries and employs around 9,500 people. The company’s net sales in 2023 were EUR 3.1 billion.

Founded in 1952, HKScan Denmark is a poultry slaughter and processing company that produces consumer packed poultry and high quality ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat poultry products. The head office is located in Aarhus and production units are based in Vinderup and Skovsgaard. HKScan Denmark employs around 680 employees and its revenues amounted to approximately EUR 230 million for the year 2023.

With the acquisition of HKScan Denmark, Plukon enters the Danish market with a strong position and creates a platform for further growth in the European market.

Completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities.

Mazanti-Andersen advised Plukon in all aspects of the transaction with a team led by Jens Folker Bruun, who was primarily assisted by Mia Anne Gantzhorn (competition matters) and Mads Herdichek Langfeldt.
